The Making of a Divorce Culture
Luckily, I have never had to go through a divorce. My parents have always worked things out by never making divorce an option. So I am speaking from a view point which some people may not have. Divorce has become more and more prominent as time progresses. The author herself divides divorce into two categories as evolutionary and revolutionary. I think in certain situations divorce becomes necessary if abuse or unfaithfulness comes about. But i don't think divorce is really the main issue. I think its marraige thats the main issue. Marriage is a sacred covenant not to be taken lightly, and in this society, it seems like it has been cheapened. But in the case of children. I think parents should try to work it out for the sake of the kids. But like i said, when one marries i think its a big committment, and if their not ready to make it work, then they shouldnt even consider it.
